The screened porch is 140 square feet, not included in the total area above.
This Cabin Getaway has its entrance from the north porch.
There is a living space on the first floor with a desk/dining table, kitchenette, built-in drawer wall, closet, and attached bathroom.
The screened porch is accessible from the living space.
There is a sleeping loft on the second floor accessed by ladder.
This is our smallest cabin, suitable for one or two people in a country setting.
The porch is a three season living area which makes the cabin feel spacious.
This design is very compact and makes efficient use of space.
It can be very economical to build and can even be prefabricated as wall, floor, and roof components and delivered to the site for assembly.
This cabin is designed with passive and active solar which allows reduction of non-renewable energy needs, making it possible to achieve net zero energy usage.
While this design is very compact, it makes good use of available space with generous glazing and a high ceiling over the living area.
View of north and west elevations.
The porch wraps around the north and west facades and is screened on the west side.
There are built-in drawers to the east and a closet to the west of the north entry.
This area will feel bigger than it is due to the glazed doors and windows, especially the doors to the porch, which can remain open most of the year.
The kitchen is highly functional with a two burner stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and sink.
An operable window faces east at the sink.
A narrow door leads to a bathroom with all the necessary features, including a shower.
A built-in desk/dining table is central to the common space.
A small wood stove is located in the southwest corner.
